Why you should always have the captions on

Once upon a time, I watched television without captions on. Then I got a TV that was high-def enough for my dog to believe animals were coming through the “magic window” into our living room. Cows, horses, other dogs — they all got a good barking at. She was really very concerned about this ongoing security threat and wanted to make sure we knew that.

My inability to ever watch the Puppy Bowl notwithstanding, I’ve learned that having the captions on is the best way to watch most things. Including, sometimes, commercials.
